Every summer Brampton hosts the city-wide Carabram Frstival. This is held on the second weekend in July and attracts more than 60,000 visitors. Local theatre groups stage shows at the Lester B. Pearson Theatre and the Cyril Clark Library Theatre. The Peel Heritage Complex is comprised of a group of historically significant heritage buildings. Programs at this centre include lectures and workshops in history, art, and culture. The state-of-the-art Brampton Sports and Entertainment Centre seats over 5000 people. It is the home of the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League, and the Brampton Excelsiors Senior Lacrosse team.
