This home is located on the border between the neighbourhoods of Willowdale and Newtonbrook.

Newtonbrook is located at the north end of the City of Toronto. It is situated between the east and west branches of the Don River Valley, which serve to provide an attractive natural backdrop for this neighbourhood in addition to providing residents with plenty of recreational opportunities. Willowdale is a vibrant and cosmopolitan urban centre filled with luxury condominiums, custom built homes, shining office towers, a newly renovated shopping mall and theatre complex, an ultra modern civic centre, a world-class aquatic centre and a highly acclaimed centre for the performing arts.

CentrePoint Mall is as its name implies conveniently located in the centre of this neighbourhood on the south-west corner of Yonge Street and Steeles Avenue. This indoor shopping mall is anchored by two national department stores, a popular family style restaurant and a large grocery store.

The Yonge Street shopping district which runs through the centre of this neighbourhood is a curious mix of small retailers, big box stores, one-of-a-kind specialty stores, fast food restaurants, small shopping plazas and a large shopping centre. This vibrant shopping mecca also features an international selection of restaurants including French, Italian, Greek, Chinese, Japanese and Middle Eastern foods. If you prefer making dinner at home there are numerous food markets along this street.

The Bayview Village Shopping Centre, located at the north-east corner of Bayview and Sheppard Avenues, is known for its excellent selection of clothing stores and restaurants. Willowdale Avenue provides residents in the east part of this neighbourhood with additional convenience-type shopping and also contains a number of specialty service stores and professional offices.

Newtonbrook's Yonge Street shopping district is checkered with shopping plazas and new car dealerships. This section of Yonge Street also contains a dizzying array of fast food restaurants, coffee shops, and convenience type stores.

Dufferin Street is Toronto's largest discount warehouse district featuring a wide selection of well known brand name clothing, high-tech items, and home furnishing products. Steeles Avenue is a higher-end retail district with numerous shopping plazas, big box chain stores, and smaller specialty shops and restaurants.

Newtonbrook contains over twenty neighbourhood parks and children's playgrounds. Many of these parks offer tennis courts, baseball diamonds, sports fields, and fitness trails. Newtonbrook also has two community centres and four indoor ice arenas.

The North York Civic Centre located on Beecroft Road, one block west of Yonge Street, is a multi-faceted facility that includes the Douglas Snow Aquatic Centre and the North York Central Library. Adjacent to the civic centre is Mel Lastman Square, a popular public promenade that is equipped with a spacious amphitheatre, intimate wedding pavilions, a garden court, and a reflecting pool which doubles as a skating rink in the wintertime. Next to Mel Lastman Square is the Toronto Centre for the Arts which includes the mainstage, the George Weston Recital Hall, and the Studio Theatre. The Willowdale Lawn Bowling Club is located across the street from the civic centre at 150 Beecroft Road.

The newly built Mitchell Field Community Centre located at 89 Church Avenue includes an ice arena, an indoor pool, a gymnasium and community meeting rooms. Tennis courts and baseball diamonds can be found at Bayview Village Park off Bayview Avenue and Edithvale Park on Edithvale Drive. Willowdale Park, located off Hollywood Avenue also has tennis courts. In addition, the Willowdale neighbourhood contains many children's parks, equipped with playgrounds, that are conveniently situated throughout the neighbourhood.

Cummer Park Fitness Centre located at 6000 Leslie Street, features squash and racquetball courts, fitness classes, an indoor jogging/walking track, two weight rooms, outdoor tennis courts, whirlpools and saunas. Esther Shiner stadium located at 5720 Bathurst Street has a 2,000 seat stadium that hosts a myriad of sport and track and field competitions.

This location along the Yonge street corridor provides its residents with quick and easy access to stations on the Yonge-University-Spadina subway line. Regular bus service is available on Finch, Steeles, Bayview, Cummer and Drewry Avenues and on Bathurst and Dufferin Streets.
