Weather permitting, there is ice skating on Toogood Pond in January and February.
The Markham Theatre for Performing Arts, located at Highway 7 and Warden, offers award-winning professional entertainment, as well as community, cultural and social events. The Markham Little Theatre is a well-regarded community theatre group that performs at the Markham Theatre.
The Markham Fair is held each fall at the Markham Fairgrounds on McCowan Road. It features a midway, concert, and livestock exhibits.
Markham Transit operates bus routes that provide commuters with direct access to Toronto and GO Transit lines. The train ride to Toronto’s Union Station is approximately 20 minutes. Conveniently situated at the northeast border of Toronto, motorists enjoy quick and easy access to the new Highway 407 and to Highway 404 which provides direct links to Toronto’s 401 and 400 highways.
