This Mono hobby tree farm in the Hockley Highlands has been in the same family for 42 years. There are over 70,000 trees planted, sections of old growth and water sources. In 1989, the farm was severed into two 48.8 acres; the upper with buildings and the lower without. It is an easy one hour drive north from Pearson International Airport to either property situated on Airport Road just south of Hwy 89. Both lots are under a Managed Forest Plan (M F P) that the new owner will need to reapply if they want to continue or apply for both M F P and other uses with a building permit from the Town of Mono.

The upper lot has a rebuilt barn as a rustic 3 bedroom house with a workshop & large deck overlooking a panoramic south view. The house structure retained the original barn stone work and wide beams and flooring inside. There is also a clay tennis court, log cabin, double garage, tractor shed and large open lawn area to the south of the house.

     · The log cabin Is 7 meters by 7 meters

· The double garage Is 7 meters by 7 meters.

· Buildings to be sold in ‘as is' condition

On the upper lot are two spring fed & spring runoff ponds. The larger pond is 100 meters long by 20 meters to 50 meters wide with a depth of 4 meters at the deepest end.

The lower 48.8 acres of this stunning forested land has 150 feet of Sheldon Creek running at the south end of the lot and a small ravine on the south east side. A variety of wildlife and bird sightings amongst the old and new growth make this a quiet, yet easily accessible retreat area just minutes off Airport Road.

About the Hockley Highland Area of Mono:

The Town of Mono is situated at the south-east corner of Dufferin County, just north of Caledon. It stretches from Highway #9 north to Highway #89, west to its border with the Township of Amaranth, and east to the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio. Mono is essentially rural in both geography and character. The rolling, tree-covered hills hold streams and creeks which form the headwaters of three rivers - the Humber, Nottawasaga and Credit. Mono's approximately 6,900 residents make their homes on farms, rural estates and in small settlements, and include the farming community, local businesses, numerous artists and artisans, commuters to neighbouring towns and cities, and weekend escapees from the urban bustle.

The scenic countryside is conducive to recreational activities and the enjoyment of mother nature. Explore one of our many trails on foot, or strap skis and snowshoes on and navigate about in the winter months. Playing a round of golf and taking in the spectacular views is another option. A meandering drive through the hills shopping, dining and visiting local artists is a perfect day in Mono. There is something for everyone.

Discovering Mono on foot is by far the best way to take in nature's splendour and her changing seasons. The Bruce Trail threads right through the town starting at the south eastern corner and heading up Airport Road (County Rd 18). A left turn in Hockley Valley and then the trail proceeds north to Mono Centre, Mono Cliffs Park and exits Mono at Hwy 89 near Violet Hill.
